Looking at working up some mane magic? Zero in on the basic bath booty this season. And stock up your personal hair care boutique with these five must-haves to combat the rain assault

1. Lather Up
Dirty hair, will wash. Make that your monsoon mantra. Shampoo, shampoo and shampoo to keep your mane free from grime and oil. Start at the scalp, using fingertips to work in the mild liquid and then move down along the length of the hair. “Use a volumnising shampoo, for lending extra body to your crowning glory. TIGI and Wella offer an excellent product range ,” recommends hair stylist Dorris. If your strands are colour-treated, make sure you use a shampoo and conditioner designed for a chemically treated mane. Bereft of hair-stripping detergents, they are milder.

2. Conditioner Call
Avoid any product that has oil, wax and gel like consistency. Steer clear of creamy conditioners. “Anything gooey and sticky spells bad news. Using the correct conditioner, in keeping with your hair type, is vital to keep your mane free from unwanted knots and tangles,” says Natasha who powers scissor moves at Nalini and Yasmin. And highly recommended is a leisurely recovery rinse to ensure zero nestling residue midst your tresses. “Due to the increased humidity in the monsoon, your hair looks limp and flat. So it is advisable to stay away from heavy-duty conditioner, as it will weigh down the hair even more,” says Kavita Punjabi, leading hair stylist at Franck Provost Spa & Hair Studio.
