Style your own makeover this season by moving ahead with the latest in make up climes.

The Eyes

“The absolute no make up look will always be in,” says make up artist Marvie Beck. “Apart from this, the Renaissance Doll look akin to period films like Parineeta is slowly gaining popularity. And then there is the bronze, athletic look, high on glam quotient when women go clubbing.”

“It's definitely glamour,” says make up artist Clint Fernandes of the look for 2005. He encapsulates this year's make up trends in the rampant use of metallic shades like gunpowder, cobalt blue, copper turned green and burnt ruby. These are being complemented by light fluorescent colours like dullish yellow, dull lime green and even magenta, in the eye shadow palette.

The shape of the eyes is decidedly round, considering the overkill that happened with the feline, elongated eye shape. “Though this kind of a look is blazing the ramps internationally, the Indians are still opting for the ringed eyes. They are soft, subtle, stress on innocence and are very non-Arabic,” says Fernandes.

For Lashes

Long, sooty lashes are in as the grunge look is being elbowed out. “Coat the lashes lightly with waterproof, protein enriched mascara,“ says make up artist Bharat Godambe. ”Emphasize the outer fringes sparingly.“

Alternatively, suggests Marvie, use a green or a black eye pencil to softly contour the eyes and then smudge gently with the fingers.“

For Cheeks

“Golden orange is the undisputed colour of the season,” says Clint. “It lifts the Indian skin the right notch and makes it glow and sparkle. Iridescent powder works well.“

“For those with youthful, glowing skin, coral and peach are recommended. For the older skin, a cream blush on works well. Optionally, matt powder blush on in natural mocha,“ says Bharat. Light and bright is the way to go during the monsoon.

For Lips

“Flesh colours like peaches, pinks and nude are in. Less works best, though,” says Bharat.“Specks of silver and the prismatic, diamond texture looks uber cool,“ says Marvie. ”For every day wear, natural browns and baby pinks look good. The classic lips painted in maroon and berry are in, but in transparent textures. Else they appear blockish and crusty.“ So go for a flirtish natural look, the waterproof way!
