The heat and the humidity are making a mean mess of your hair. Wondering how to beat the tress stress? Squeeze in some pamper time as a quick beauty booster. And shine, the cool and confident way. Here are five fix-its to beat your hair woes...

1. Facing build-up blues with droopy locks? Most hair care products that promise to lock in moisture leave behind residue even after rinsing. Be savvy. Make space in your vanity caddy for a mild shampoo that cleanses your hair to give it an unbeatable shine. About a quarter-sized dollop or a little more for longer hair works great. Dilute, massage gently onto your wet scalp and rinse well. Follow up with conditioner, applying along the hair shafts and wash off

2. Losing sleep over designer dandruff? Grab a dual proposition shampoo to nourish your hair. Choose a shampoo that removes both grease and embarrassing white flecks without drying your locks. And use cold water. Your scalp secretes nourishing oils that dissolve in warm water and get washed away. Cold water strengthens hair scales, making them lie flat and preventing frizzing.

3. A knotty affair? Remove tangles from your hair before leaping into the shower. Use a wide toothed comb, not a hairbrush. If you have long locks, divide into sections and let them hang loose while shampooing. Soaking your head in the tub to rinse off is avoidable as residue remains. Rinse under running water and comb simultaneously.

4. Dry mane, or worse, toasted tresses? Cool and confident is the unbeatable mantra. Remember, when you use a hair dryer, set it on high airflow and low heat, holding the nozzle a few inches away. This leaves your hair soft, light and manageable without stripping it of moisture. Avoid ironing your locks and using styling solutions. To combat the sun, power your crowning glory with a shampoo that contains nourishing Vita ACE

5. In between hair styles? So you're neither here nor there. That's the long and short of it. Accessorise generously. Tame wild bangs using a bandeau. Make way for dressy tresses and funky braids using crystal hair sticks, beaded clips, handcrafted hair forks, twinkling bobby pins and sassy pronged butterflies . In exciting variations in colours and shapes. Go ahead. Indulge, sparkle and stun. Looking fantastic was never this easy!
