Face it. Your hair never looked worse. Limp and dandruff prone with oily accents. Add to that the ouch factor of the coming monsoon. Worried? Follow a few earnest tips to sport a great looking mane even when it pours...

1. The monsoon spells havoc for your locks because dust dissolves in rainwater to nestle on your scalp, making it itchy. Dive for cover. Do what it takes: use giant umbrellas, flattering raincoats and long scarves to protect your hair. But if your head does get drenched, pour on the shampoo. Rinse well, condition liberally and wash clean

2. Oily dandruff thrives during the rainy season. To get rid of embarassing white flakes, choose a dual action mild shampoo that combats the flecks while pampering your follicles. Check the ingredients -- the presence of Vita ACE in your shampoo lends it the superpower to cleanse and enrich your crowning glory.

3. Apply conditioner only along the length of your hair. You make way for hair breakage and limp locks by conditioning the roots. Make sure you rinse thoroughly to remove all traces post shower. Try and avoid stay-in conditioners during this season.

4. Allow dripping wet tresses to dry naturally till slightly moist. For best results, then direct the hot dryer blast on your hair for about five minutes. This helps in styling your mane to perfection

5. Skip the gels, mousse and hair sprays. You could even experiment with a flattering, easy-to-maintain shorter crop for a fuller look. Eat well and sleep tight. And dazzle everyone with gorgeous hair this monsoon!
