Armed with perfectly manicured nails, ironed tresses, Jimmy Choo heels (she loves pinks, purples and gold) and a gorgeous smile, at 22, actor Shazahn Padamsee oozes that elfin charm and cosmopolitan upbringing of sin city, Mumbai. “I simply love Hindi movies,” she gushes. I couldn’t possibly have pursued any other profession except acting on the silver screen. I love what life brings to me and I feel privileged to be doing what I want.” Shazahn (her name means ‘queen of the planet’) decided to graduate to Bollywood after her stint in theatre and acting in various ad films for brands like McDonalds, Clean & Clear, 7 Up, Nescafe, Airtel, Gitanjali Jewels, among others. Adding to that, she has even tried her hand at event management.
She did a small role opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Rocket Singh – Salesman of the Year and her performance was appreciated by the audience. “Working in Rocket Singh… was a great learning experience,” she says, admitting, “My parents guide me. When I decided to become an actor, my father assumed reins of my career. He is very strict about my professional decisions and keeps me in check,” adds Padamsee. Apart from Hindi films, Shazahn has also acted in a Tamil flick titled Kanimozhi. Her latest film Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji has garnered mixed reviews while her performance has been appreciated by a few critics. Shazahn talks about her character in the film. “I loved playing 18-year-old June Pinto. I worked in Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji as it is a slice of life film.
“I am a creature of habit. I follow the same routine everyday. My first intake in the morning is warm lemonade with honey, followed by two glasses of water. I follow it up with a bowl of freshly cut fruits, and three egg whites and one egg yolk,” she shares
